Goldcorp to buy Andean Resources for $3.4 billion

FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- Goldcorp Inc. said Friday it's agreed to acquire all outstanding shares of Andean Resources Ltd. for about $3.6 billion Canadian dollars ($3.4 billion). Andean's principal asset is the 100%-owned Cerro Negro gold project, an advanced-stage system located in the Santa Cruz province of Argentina.
